Increased Patrols Lead to Multiple Bike Seizures

We're stepping up patrols across New Ash Green and Hartley this summer following concerns from residents about anti-social behaviour and nuisance bikes.

Thanks to information provided by the community, local officers have been carrying out additional patrols during the school holiday period and have already taken positive action. Over recent weeks, several motorbikes have been seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, including a bike reported over the weekend for being ridden across local grassland and causing nuisance to residents.

We know the impact nuisance bikes can have on the community, damaging open spaces, causing noise and making areas feel less safe. That's why officers will continue conducting high-visibility patrols throughout the summer, allowing us to respond quickly to reports, identify those responsible and take action where offences are being committed.

We encourage residents to continue reporting incidents so that we can target our patrols where they are needed most.
